You may have noticed the arrow pointing to the +You on Google lately. Kate-Lynn was curious about this and asked for more information (Thanks Kate-Lynn for your inquiry!)

Google+ is basically Google's version of Facebook. You have to have a Google account to access it. YOU CAN'T DO THIS AT SCHOOL. However, because you might be interested in learning more I have uploaded 2 videos to the TechDrive about Google+ for you to watch. One of the advantages of Google+, according to various tech sources, is how easy it is to set privacy settings, as one of the videos mentions. If you are curious about learning more, you can ask your parents to help you look up more information about Google+ at home. (There a lot more videos about it on YouTube.)

Disclaimer: I officially believe no one under the age of 18 should have a social network and I do not endorce any social networks, including Google+. I am not an expert on Google+, I have not read their privacy policy but I'm sure they have restrictions on age requirements. Students interested in social networking should work with their parents.

We do not have access to any social networking sites. That was decided by the agency. Teachers do not have access either. We wouldn't need it in school because we have too much other stuff to do anyway.

A lot of people disagree about children using social network sites. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. As a teacher and parent I've seen it abused too many ways to endorse it.
